Thank you so much for tuning in and reading the show notes too! In this episode I talk with the wonderful Dr. Edna Buckle. This is a great interview because we get in the mind of someone who has worked in a corporate dental practice, multi-dental practice, and private dental practice. Listen to see the downsides and upsides of each one. Also Dr. Edna Buckle has just recently created her own private dental practice called Avie Oral Surgery Group. It's not even a year old but she is already seeing pretty great progress. Listen and follow along her journey to see what mistakes you can and should be avoiding when trying to attract new patients and what just may work remarkable wonders for your dental practice.
We also discuss a single piece of business advice that Dr. Edna Buckle shares, that I personally believe, is something everyone should not only hear but apply. This goes for everyone who has their own business, dental or non-dental! If you are a dental practice owner, I am sure by now you figured out that there is much more to do than just dental work on patients. You have to understand and deal with employees, marketing (online and offline), advertising, production, collections, office culture, and more! When starting off, and even now, we do NOT have all the answers to every problem that will occur. However, there is a solution to this and Dr. Edna Buckle shares that with you.
Dr. Edna Buckle was born in Ghana and grew up primarily in Michigan. She attended the University of Michigan (Go Blue!) and completed her dental training at the world's first dental school, the University of Maryland where she received the prestigious Anesthesia Award for management of anxious patients.
After dental school, Dr. Buckle completed four years of Oral Surgery training at Howard University Hospital in Washington, DC with emphasis on trauma and facial surgery, as well as extractions, pathology, sedation, and management of medically compromised patients. Dr. Buckle is written Board Certified and credentialed with Laurel Regional Hospital.
She opened up, not too long ago, Avie Oral Surgery Group; a practice whose priority is to serve their patient population in a respectful and calming environment.
