Frame "areas of weakness" in team members as "areas of opportunity" instead!
Be sure to have a written policy noting explicitly what happens when an improvement isn't made by a team member.
Always stick up for your team! Do not let patients be disrespectful to them in your practice.
Create a Performance Improvement Plan, or PIP, for team members who need a boost in some areas.
Always follow through with your policy statements. Otherwise your team might not take them seriously.
Not letting go of a problematic team member puts strain on your high performing members. Cater to your strong team members and build a culture they would love to stay in!
