UPDATE: Jonathan VanHorn rebranded "Dentist Metrics" and the company is now known as "Tooth & Coin".
What's up dental marketer tribe! In this episode we really get into the number and business side of things. Now we all know knowing your overhead, production goals, collection goals, etc. is very important but before getting into all of that, expert, Jonathan VanHorn lets you know exactly what you should be doing beforehand and what numbers you should prioritize into your practice's culture.
Many times, dentist, focus so much on the clinical side of things which is important and honestly, that's where most of your attention should go, but like Jonathan states "if you don't understand what's going on in your business from a numbers perspective then you can't strategically grow". The goal is for you to attract new patients and grow but this all needs to not only be tracked, but it has to be planned. In order to plan this you need a starting point and that starting point should be your numbers. You need to know how many new patients come in, from where are they coming in, how many phone calls and greetings you are receiving daily, no-shows, and so much more! These are numbers most dentist don't think about but they are the numbers that bring the biggest impact into your practice that will positively increase your dental practice's success.
Jonathan VanHorn, CPA is the founder of DentistMetrics.com a digital CPA and business coaching firm for dentists that helps dental practices in over 20 states throughout the US as well as the host of the Start Your Dental Practice podcast where he educates dental practice owners on the business of dentistry.
