Hey Dental Marketer Tribe! I hope you are enjoying your week! I apologize for the lack of uploads this week, I am recovering from the flu and at the same time I started Invisalign so I had to extract some wisdom teeth as well and couldn’t even talk… so yeah…. had a rough week but managed to upload this very special episode!

 

In this episode I interview the very amazing Korey Korfiatis, the owner of Legwork. Now, Legwork is a marketing software tool! If you wonder what that is Legwork helps your dental practice with reminders, referrals, obtaining more reviews and helping with reactivations, and SO much more! Korey Talks with me and tells me about how he started the company and what he has seen increase dental practice profits.

 

We also talk about the best piece of advice he has to share… which honestly is an AMAZING piece of advice. It seems so simple but if you apply it TODAY then it will happen and you will see tremendous progress in your dental practice. What happens is we start to apply what we learn but then “life” happens and we tend to forget and let things slide, so don’t be consistent with the advice Korey has for you.

It’s episode 77 of The Dental Marketer Podcast! In this episode I speak with the master of reviews… Dr. Leonard Tau! Such a fun and great guy and so much knowledge was shared in this episode. Some key things I learned was what exactly to do with bad reviews. Some times we think we need to reply to bad reviews and sometimes we think we should just leave it alone and it will eventually die down… but will it?! Reviews these days can really break us mentally and break our business physically! Think about it, would you take your child (or dog) to a practice with horrible reviews?! I wouldn’t! So what should we do when we receive a horrible review?

 

Another pointer I learned in this interview was, which review website, or third-part website, matters the most! Sometimes we are trying to get reviews all on our Facebook page, or maybe Yelp.. but where do the reviews have the most impact? In this episode Dr.Leonard Tau reveals where you should send all your happy patients to leave reviews and why!

#76: Talking with the founder of GOBY, Improving Patient Experience, & Your Target Customer with Benjamin Goldberg

We are at episode 76 of The Dental Marketer Podcast. In this episode I talk with the amazing Ben Goldberg from GOBY. GOBY is an amazing product, if you are familiar with the products like Ipsy, FIVE FOUR, and Dollar Shave Club, then you will be familiar and LOVE the product GOBY, especially if you are using an electric toothbrush (which lets face it…. almost everyone is using it now). We talk about how he had the idea to create GOBY and what caused him to create it, what was the pain point that he experience to say “hey, I’m tired of this… something or someone should create this… and that’s going to me!”

 

We also dive into Ben’s entrepreneurial journey and how it applies to you (especially if you are dental practice owner). One thing I loved that he pointed out is that he makes sure the Patient Experience is first and superb! That’s where great marketing comes in. Think about it, if your patients don’t even feel like they are having an experience in your dental practice then you are either doing NO marketing or your marketing is just that bad. You have to have an experience and it has to be unique and remarkable in order for the patient to be a fan.

 

Goby was founded by two friends who were frustrated by today’s oral care offerings. Like many people, Ben’s visits to the dentist were far from enjoyable, and he begrudgingly bought an overpriced electric toothbrush, searching for an upgrade.

Improvements were made, but new pain came with the egregious brush head replacement costs. Claire (known as Cavity Claire by her family as a kid) was also keen on improving her routine, but always felt priced out.

So many times when we are starting our first ever dental practice we my think “hey it’s best to accept every single the of PPO insurance… right?” But is it really? Sometimes, we discount our services WAY too soon with accepting all kinds of PPO insurances and don’t ever see the bigger picture. Remember PPO insurances are just another form of marketing, my wonderful guest explains it very well. It’s like saying “would you want to have a permanent coupon out there that people (possibly a large majority) can use whenever with no expiration date? Something to really think about huh!

 

My guest, Lisa Weber from Unlock The PPO, discusses ALL about these scenarios and situations and she explains something really important that every dentist should know…. which is their NUMBERS. Sometimes you know how much your mailers cost, digital marketing cost, you may even know how much your front office pens cost monthly, but many dentists have no clue about the fees and discounts that they are giving due to accepting certain PPO’s and so much more! Lisa became a full partner with Unlock the PPO in early 2011 by creating and expanding the negotiations wing of the company. Lisa had a finance and insurance management history prior to her 13 years experience in the dental industry. #74: How to get your patients to start accepting more Ortho procedures immediately with Dr. Amanda Wilson

You are listening to episode 74 of The Dental Marketer Podcast! In this episode I speak with our wonderful guest Dr. Amanda Wilson. We discuss various topics and most of the topics are ortho related, which makes sense because she has been doing ortho for over 10 years. We discuss the importance of really taking your time when it comes to new patients exams or recalls and seeing where the patient’s dental health needs help. A lot of the times, the patient does not really think about malocclusion or misaligned teeth OR maybe the patient has always thought about the symptoms of malocclusion and misaligned teeth but never spoke about it or the patient really never thought about it in depth…. well we discuss how you can bring that up!

 

We also discuss the next wave in dentistry and what you should be doing to not be left behind! We know healthcare is changing and evolving, so we need to either stay ahead of it or align ourselves next to it… because if not we will get left behind! I like how in this episode we talk about how you can  attract the right patients by accepting ortho or doing more orthodox in your office, and we discuss how you can show case this and market it to the community that way you can start attracting the right patients!

 

 

Dr. Amanda Wilson is a Orthodontist, Dental Consultant and Dental Advisor by profession.
