3 Main Ideas



1. Finding Great People

Samantha conducts deep analysis to find the right people for Smile and Co. She finds out details like how she wants to grow her practice and where she intends to be in 10 years by having each client go through an in-depth Recruitment Consultation.

Finding great people to add to your practice is hard, but Samantha suggests developing your network and trying different avenues to get the right people hired.

“Ashley is really developing a different type of experience when someone goes into her dental office. So, I want to have somebody who has that same mindset [and] same philosophy–someone who’s going to go above and beyond for her patients and that’s going to help grow her practice.”



2. Trust the Process

Ashley and Samantha recommend trusting that everything will work out. Opening a new business can be daunting when you think about everything that can go wrong.

It’s hard to know the future and whether things will go well for you and your new practice. If you put the right people and systems in place, there’s no reason why you can’t step back and relax.

While you have no way of knowing if you have the ideal solution in place, you can only do so much. They recommend to think positive thoughts and to keep moving forward.



3. Use your Resources

Ashley says to know where your weaknesses are, and know that you can’t handle everything. She relies heavily on people like Samantha to figure things out for her. She could hire amazing people because of her and Tatyana, and she’s very grateful.

Delegating work to others is usually a good idea. Ashley is a dentist and new at having a business, so it makes sense that she wouldn’t necessarily be a superstar at human resources. Seek out the expert in unfamiliar fields.
